Leslie Jones, Bill’s Great Grandfather, Was a famous photographer in the Boston Area. He worked for the Boston Herald-Traveler from 1917-1956. The Boston Public Library has a team that has been working on cataloging, preserving and digitizing his collection of 37,500 negatives. The people working on the project invited anyone from the family to come in and see the process and view a preview some of the photo’s. We joined a large group of Bill’s family on Friday and invaded these poor guys with three generations of Cullums. We had a great time and the guys working on the project were incredibly gracious and welcoming. Here are some pictures of our tour and the library itself.
You can find more information about Leslie and a small sampling of his photo’s at this link: http://www.lesliejonesphotography.com/
